或者 is "or" outside of questions — offering options rather than demanding a choice.

How it works
我想去青岛或者南京 — I'd like to go to Qingdao or Nanjing. Nobody is being asked to decide.
It can link nouns, verbs or whole clauses, unlike 和, which only joins nouns.
或者…或者… gives "either… or…".

wǒ xiǎng qù qīng dǎo huò zhě nán jīng
我想去青岛或者南京。
I'd like to go to Qingdao or Nanjing.
míng tiān huò zhě hòu tiān dōu kě yǐ
明天或者后天都可以。
Tomorrow or the day after both work.
