Expressing "more and more" with "yuelaiyue"

越来越 describes a quality increasing over time.

Subj. + 越来越 + Adj. + 了

How it works

天气越来越冷了 — the weather is getting colder and colder. The final 了 marks the change.

It works with the verbs that take 很 as well: 我越来越喜欢他.

Because 越来越 already carries degree, 很 and 非常 cannot be added.

tiān qì yuè lái yuè lěng le
天气越来越冷了。
The weather is getting colder and colder.
tā de zhōng wén yuè lái yuè hǎo le
他的中文越来越好了。
His Chinese is getting better and better.
wǒ yuè lái yuè xǐ huan zhè lǐ
