极了

jí le

Adjectives with "-ji le"

极了 after an adjective is the strongest everyday intensifier — "extremely".

Adj. + 极了

How it works

这个主意好极了 — that's a brilliant idea. Unlike 很 and 太, 极了 follows the adjective.

It's emphatic and a bit exclamatory, so it belongs in reactions rather than in measured description.

死了 does the same job for unpleasant things: 累死了, 烦死了.
