A short tag on the end asks for confirmation — "right?", "okay?".

How it works
这样做，对吗? — doing it this way, right? The tag is separated by a slight pause.
好吗 softens a proposal into a request for consent: 我们明天去，好吗?
是吗 on its own is also a reaction meaning "oh really?".
