以后 follows the thing it refers to — Chinese says "ten o'clock after", not "after ten o'clock".

How it works
English puts "after" in front; Chinese puts 以后 behind. 十点以后 is after ten, 下班以后 is after work, 吃饭以后 is after eating.
The whole 以后 phrase then behaves like any other time expression, so it goes before the verb of the main clause.

shí diǎn yǐ hòu, wǒ bú zài jiā
十点以后，我不在家。
After ten, I'm not home.
xià bān yǐ hòu wǒ men qù hē jiǔ ba
下班以后我们去喝酒吧。
