好 + 动词

hǎo + dòng cí

Using "hao" to mean "easy"

好 in front of a verb means the action is easy or pleasant to do.

好 + Verb

How it works

好做 (easy to do), 好买 (easy to buy), 好吃 (good to eat — that is, tasty), 好看 (good-looking).

This is where 好吃 and 好看 come from: they aren't idioms so much as a productive pattern.

Its opposite is 难: 难做, 难买. And 不好 negates: 这个字不好写.
