完 says the action ran to completion — there's none of it left.

How it works
我说完了 (I've finished speaking), 吃完了 (all eaten). 完 is about exhausting the task, not merely stopping.
It differs from 好: 吃完 means the food is gone, 吃好 means you're satisfied and done.
The negative is 没…完: 我没看完这本书.
