The "also" adverb "ye"

也 means "also", and like 都 it sits between the subject and the verb.

Subj. + 也 + Verb / Adj.

How it works

我也去 is "I'm going too". The 也 cannot move: 也我去 is wrong, and it can never come after the verb.

也 negates by staying in front of 不 or 没: 我也不去 (I'm not going either).

When 也 and 都 appear together, 也 comes first: 我们也都是学生.

zuó tiān hěn lěng, jīn tiān yě hěn lěng
昨天很冷，今天也很冷。
It was cold yesterday, and it's cold today too.
wǒ yě xiǎng qù
我也想去。
I want to go too.
tā yě bù zhī dào
他也不知道。
He doesn't know either.
